Dear Parents
Welcome back to Term 3! We have had a smooth and settled start to the second semester and we are looking forward to the energy, enthusiasm and all that we have planned ahead. Over the next two days, I will be experiencing the silence and stillness of a spiritual retreat in Mittagong with some colleague Principals. I will treasure the time alone in prayer reflecting on the “Good News of Joy” and I will keep you all in my prayers.
It is with much sadness that I inform you that one of the dads in our community (Charlotte J’s dad in Year 6) lost his life in an accident recently. Nothing can prepare us for the tragedy of a life taken so young but we can draw some comfort and strength from the loving arms of family, friends, community and our Heavenly Father.
Thank you to those who have reached out to the family in some way to show your love and support from the Our Lady of Fatima school community.
Please keep the Jackson family in your prayers during this incredibly difficult and sad time.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen
Joachim and Anne were the parents of Mary our Mother and the grandparents of Jesus. They were good, faithful parents who raised Mary with love and devotion to God. Joachim and Anne serve as role models for parents and grandparents, and both deserve to be honoured for their devotion to God and Our Lady Mary, the Mother of God. As grandparents, they lead the way as spiritual mentors and remind us of our purpose to “serve”.
This Feast Day also celebrates and reminds us of our grandparents who bring gifts of time, love, memory and family history. We honour and pray for all the grandparents in our community and treasure the joy and gifts they bring into our lives.
