Corpus Christi – The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, Year C.
This week let us ponder on the Eucharist not only as Christ’s action in the past, but also as a present and ever-new event in our own daily lives and actions.
The Sacrament of First Holy Communion will be celebrated this Sunday 19th June, 2022 at 9:30am in St Brigid's Church. We warmly invite you to join us on this special occasion and
to pray, especially, for our students Lily Brown, Marshal Cook, Daniella Cortis & Archie McNamee. These children will be receiving the Sacrament of First Holy Communion alongside friends from other schools in our local community. May God bless them always.
The final lesson for children preparing for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion is tomorrow afternoon. This lesson will be held in St Brigid's Church. Lesson 5 - Wednesday 15th June, 2022 at 3:50pm. The Reflection Day is this Friday 17th June, 2022 (during school hours) and will be held in the Fr Stan Campbell Hall. Children will join with St Joseph's students during recess and lunch and may order their lunch through the school canteen.
Please keep the children and their families in your prayers as they prepare for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion.
St Joey's Winter Warmer Drive
As part of our outreach to those in need in our community, our School Leaders and SRC members introduced the St Joey's Winter Warmer Drive at last week's assembly. We will kick off this drive tomorrow, continuing until the first week back in Term 3. Please donate good quality used/new items such as: blankets, beanies, scarves, socks & gloves. We will be collecting these over the coming weeks and delivering them to the local St Vincent de Paul shop across from our school.
A Prayer for courage, wisdom, faith and love
Lord, grant us
Courage to do right
when doing wrong or nothing at all
would be easier.
Wisdom to say the right thing at the right time
because words have the power to help or to hurt.
Faith in the goodness of humankind
because living in doubt and fear is not living as you
meant it to be.
And, most important, Love,
The kind that gives without demanding,
supports without holding too tightly,
And understands that we are, all of us, imperfect.
Amen
