PERFORMING ARTS NEWS

I have some exciting news - we have a whole-school performance at the end of Term 3!

In Performing Arts lessons we are practising our dancing and drama to present the "Celebrate Our Differences" show. All students from Prep to Grade 4 will be dancing with their class to songs supporting diversity themes. Students Grade 3 to 6 will be acting out small scenes that demonstrate some ways in which we are different from each other and what we can learn. Everyone, no matter how different from you, deserves kindness and respect, and being different gives us the opportunities to see varying perspectives, cultures and ways of being. At home, you could talk to your child about the song they are dancing to and how it connects to an aspect of celebrating difference.

This performance will be held in the school gymnasium on Thursday, 15th September. Doors open for audience from 2.40pm. The show will start no later than 3pm and will run for approximately an hour. Students will bring their bags to the gym and be released directly to you after the final bows. Audience capacity will depend on current Covid restrictions. More on that nearer the time.

Thank you for your continued support of Performing Arts and our community at South Melbourne Park.
