Year F/1

We have had a good start to Term 3 and it was lovely see all our smiling faces after two weeks off.

Billie is away on a family holiday in the Northern Territory and Queensland.  It looks like she is having fun and that it is much warmer where she is!

Congratulations to Sienna, Evie and Aria for reading 100 nights this year! We are really lucky to have such enthusiastic readers in the F/1class.

This week, In English our class are focusing on Fairy Tales and we are reading lots of different ones each day. We are looking at the structure of a narrative and how they always have a problem that needs to be solved. We read one of Ms Ferrier’s favourite fairy tales this week, ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’ and we made finger puppets and acted out the story. We had lots of FUN!

In Maths, the Year Ones are learning about fractions and how things can be shared equally as halves. Also they have been making and ordering larger numbers. The Foundation students are practising ordering and making numbers to 20. We play lots of number games to increase our place value understanding and show much fun Maths can be.
