Health Hut update
Helping to reduce our rubbish at St Finbar’s
From the start of Term 3 the Healthy Hut will be providing reusable stainless steel containers for some of the meals that you order.
How it will work:
- Hop online and order your lunch
- If your lunch usually comes in a compostable container, it will now come in a reusable container with cutlery provided.
- Once eaten this container will be returned back to the Healthy Hut to be washed and reused for future orders.
Reusable Lunch bags can be ordered from the uniform shop.
Plastic Free July Challenge
Take up the challenge
Bring your own containers for school lunches and snacks and try to reduce your waste/soft plastic as much as you can when you bring your lunch and snack to school.

Plastic Free July Tip
A simple idea that makes a big difference.
Choosing loose produce and using reusable produce bags, instead of the plastic bags, reduces plastic waste.
Many people opt for cloth or repurposed mesh/netted bags.
It’s also worth asking if a plastic bag is really needed. When buying a bunch of bananas, consider keeping them loose in the shopping basket or trolley and transport them home in a reusable shopping bag or box.
