Compass Calendar of Events

On Friday 9th September, CSPS hosted a special guest, Harold from Life Ed, at the first assembly on site since early 2020.  Considering the large gap in time since we last gathered as a whole school, I was overwhelmed with pride. The manner in which the students understood the expectations of moving in and out of a space with 330 other people, and their attention to politeness and consideration was impressive.

But there was one particular moment that bought myself and others (including Harold) close to tears.  Young Kobe in Foundation was presenting his Life Ed commitment pledge and he had a quick moment where nerves were evident.  Every single person in the room patiently waited for him to compose himself, speak confidently and finish his small presentation. The rousing applause at the end was genuine and heart felt.  I looked over the faces in the crowd and took heed that 'they just got it'.  They, the students and staff. embodied the 5Ps by:

  • understanding the purpose
  • positively glowing in praise
  • acknowledging persistence
  • be proud of a students' effort
  • sharing his passion

Congratulations Kobe for representing in front of the whole school body and highlighting why CSPS is such a terrific school.

It is with sadness that we share in the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Queen Elizabeth served with strength and wisdom for 70 years, gaining the affection and respect of those throughout the Commonwealth and beyond.

As the world mourns her passing, it is customary to fly official flags at half-mast until the day after the funeral.

At present, with the Capital Works building, CSPS flag posts/flags are being relocated.  We do though have flags within our Administration building which will be respectfully representative of such a sad occasion.

School Council has endorsed that Thursday 15th September is the last day of Term 3 for students.

Father X wished to provide feedback about the impact of the Fathers Day arvo on him and his son.

Father X admitted he was stressed about leaving work early to attend the Fathers Day arvo and was dragging his feet.  When he arrived, child X sprinted towards his Dad and yelled in surprise "You came! Thanks so much Dad".  That evening, child X rang his grandparents to tell them all about the event and how excited he was that Dad came.  Father X knew there and then that this moment may have been small to him but was huge to his son.   Father X cannot wait for next years event.

Child Safe Communication

Child safe is everyone's responsibility.  CSPS is fully committed to creating and maintaining a child safe organisation and protecting students from all forms of abuse.

As such, it is crucial that parents/carers and the school community have the opportunity to have a say in the development and review of child safety and wellbeing policies and practices.
