Mullauna Teams

After what has been a packed semester of interschool sport, I thought that I’d take this opportunity to recognise some of the excellent sporting achievements by teams and individuals alike from Mullauna.

As the new Mullauna Sport Coordinator, I’ve been fortunate enough to attend several sporting tournaments throughout terms 1 and 2, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed by the sheer enthusiasm, sportsmanship and eagerness to participate from students across all year levels.

Notable sporting highlights of the past semester have included the boys senior badminton team progressing through to the next level of competition (Friday July 14), 3 of Mullauna’s finest middle distance runners making it through the state level of competition for Cross Country (Thursday July 13), and perhaps most pleasingly, participants representing the College with passion, integrity and respect for the opposition at all times.

Several students have also represented Mullauna in individual sports and events during the semester, including year 10 student Tanjal, who represented the College in the sport of golf and whom made it through to the school finals tournament in Mordialloc recently.  Henry Walton in year 8 also represented Mullauna in the sport of Enduro and Downhill Mountain Biking at Thredbo Resort in NSW as part of the Australian MTB Interschool event, where he finished 13th in the Enduro race and 17th in the Downhill race. Year 11 student Caitlin Duncan has also represented the College on numerous occasions in dressage and show jumping.

Moving forwards into semester 2, it would be fantastic to hear any feedback in relation to the way in which Sport programs at Mullauna could be improved. Please ensure that consent dates for sport events are checked carefully (usually 1 week prior to the event date), as this ensures that transport and staffing arrangements can be finalised well in advance. The event details (on Compass) should also be considered, as these will contain relevant information pertaining to the specific equipment requirements for the event.I look forward to seeing as many participants as possible attending the next semester’s tournaments!
