What an amazing productive term we have enjoyed in the Music Department!

Our year 8 and 9 classes have enjoyed creating their very own radio show. Our show included full class performances, small group performances, introductions and advertising including a particularly clever ad for our new school puffer jackets.

The year 7 class has mastered percussion, drumming, keyboard and are now working through guitar chords and bass guitar riffs. We are heading towards making our class bands for the year 7 Battle of the Bands competition.

Our VET crew diligently head off to their off site VET classes each Wednesday and are working on mastering music for our own Theme Concert.  Instrumental Music students are working on their own individual playing skills in lessons and practice, as well as attending bands and smaller ensembles to master the music, also for the Theme Concert.

The Theme concert this year which is scheduled for Wednesday, 13 September, is being pulled together entirelyby our six Performing Arts Captains.  As this is often a late finishing concert with such much amazing music to share, it has been conveniently scheduled the night before parent teacher learning conference day.

All ensemble and lessons start on day 1 of term 3 and run at their usual times. For Tuesday Morning Concert Band please note that this is the last term for Concert Band. These students will graduate to Wind Symphony replacing our departing year 12s from the start of term 4.

We hope parents and carers continue to hear instruments being played in your house during the holidays period!
