Indonesian Cultural Studies
This term in Cultural Studies the Foundations, JP’s and MP’s have been learning a new topic. With Ibu Sharpe, the Foundations have been learning words in relation to Bill Martin and Eric Carle’s book ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you see?' The Junior Primary children have moved from learning about zoo animals and have been discovering words that depict their clothing – pakain.
The Middle Primary learners have been discovering the Indonesian names for fruit – buah buahan. They have had one session where they were able to touch and smell various exotic fruits from Indonesia, such as the dragon fruit, rambutan, lychees and the custard apple.
The Senior Primary learners have been continuing with learning about Endangered Animals in Indonesia and have been busily working on their brochures about their chosen animal, written in both Indonesian and English.
