Celebrating Our Students Achievements
Mikayla Williamson is one of our guns in the VCE Vocational Major program. Academic legend, friendly peer, House Captain. Now, she can add one more string to her bow. That she has represented Australia on the big stage! Mikayla played for the Australia Under 18s against a Rest of the World Under 23s team at Marvel Stadium yesterday, prior to the AFL game between North Melbourne and Bulldogs. Mikayla picked up 26 possessions playing as a mid/winger in a game that came down to the wire (a 2 point loss for Australia). We are SUPER PROUD of Mikayla and the gains she is making in the professional sporting world. Apart from studying a Certificate IV in Fitness, she is completing draft camps and competitions for aspirations to play in the AFLW, work placements at a local gym and completing her senior certificate. Keep up the great work, Mikayla!
Matilda Jefferson is one of our Year 11 VCE VM legends. You might not be able to tell from her big smile and quiet exterior, but she is a National Hip-Hop Dancing Champion! She has been dancing for over ten years (tap, jazz, contemporary) but has settled on hip hop as a style. Matilda is a 9 time Australian Champion and has this year's National Competition coming up in South Australia in August. Matilda also coaches young students at her local studio and helps to teach cheer classes at a local primary school. What a champ! Keep up the great work, Matilda.
