Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,
And so another term comes to the end. Here is a quick list of some of the highlights outside of our usual program - Alleluia Day, Anzac Day Liturgy, School Photos, Excursions to the Melbourne Museum and the Zoo, District Track and Field events, Marine Ambassadors Excursions, Mothers Day Stall and Celebration morning, Year 5 Transition Day at JPC, Sorry Day Liturgy, Swimming Week Yrs 3-6, Preparation Evening for Reconciliation, Didjeribone Performance, Wellbeing Closure day for staff, Italian Day, the first semester reports have gone home and we are finishing with our Parent Teacher Interviews. I thank our families for any ways they helped these additional activities to occur.
Thank you for those who were able to attend our Parent Teacher Interviews yesterday and today. I trust you found these useful in following up the recent reports that have been sent home. We now look forward to a very focused second semester of schooling.
I met with the School Advisory Committee last night and we agreed that we need to let our community know how they can support our Parish through this very worthwhile initiative:-
FRANKSTON WINTER SHELTER
Council has approval the use of Holy Family Hall to accommodate those who are sleeping rough in the area, subject to various works which have commenced. Thanks to a very generous Christian donor (not a parishioner), we are hoping to instal a shower, which will be more convenient for guests, and means that the shower van doesn’t have to be moved to and from Peninsula City Church. Over a hundred people have now volunteered for FWS from Frankston Churches and the general community. We are still looking to increase participation by St Anne’s Parishioners in preparation for the use of the Holy Family Hall. Overnight and morning shifts are presently in particular need of volunteers. Thanks to St Anne’s Parishioners a big boot load of snacks, drinks, knitting, care-packs etc was delivered to the Peninsula City Church for winter shelter guests. We will ask again if more are required.
To volunteer or inquire further,
contact Lara Waldron at PCC: frankstonws@gmail.com, 0435 954 185,
or David Moloney from St Anne’s: 0417 704 427.
Father Martin has asked our families to consider volunteering when the Holy Family Hall is in use and for non-perishable food to please be donated which can be left at either our school or at the Parish Office.
A reminder again that this weekend at the Parish Masses our students intending to receive their Reconciliation are invited to attend as part of their preparation.
For those heading away over the school holidays and for those who are staying around I trust you have a less rushed next couple of weeks until we return to school on Monday 10th July.
God Bless
