Dance Mid-Year Showcase

Friday 23 June - The Farrall Centre, Argyle Street Campus

The High School and Clemes Dance Showcase will take place on Friday June 23 at the Farrall Centre. All Dance students from Years 8-12 will present their class work for the semester in what promises to be an entertaining evening of dance. This family friendly show starts at 5.30pm and will run for approximately 70 minutes. There is no cost for the show, and no need to book. Please stay home if you are unwell.

Brett Lee: Internet Safety Years 9 - 10

Monday 26 June

Cyber Safety expert, Brett Lee will be addressing Years 9 and 10 students on Monday 26 June. Brett will challenge students' mindsets and assumptions about the realities of the online world, aiming to empower students with the knowledge they need to act responsibly in the online environment. Brett will speak to each year group separately. Year 9 students will be escorted to The Farrall Centre immediately following their recess break. Year 10 students will follow this group in period 4 to hear Brett’s presentation. 

Festival of Voices’ - Young Tasmania Sings

Years 4-7 Choir students  

The event involves students attending two rehearsals (Monday, 3 July and Tuesday, 4 July), culminating in an evening performance at the Federation Concert Hall. On Monday 3 July and Tuesday 4 July, choir students will depart The Friends’ School at 9.00am travelling to the Federation Concert Hall and returning at 2.00pm.  

 

Monday: 3 July (daytime rehearsal)

What to wear: PE uniform

What to bring: Packed lunch and labelled drink bottle

 

Tuesday: 4 July (daytime rehearsal)

What to wear: PE uniform

What to bring: Packed lunch and labelled drink bottle

 

Tuesday: 4 July (Evening Concert)

Where: Federation Concert Hall

What to wear: Full Formal Uniform

Arrival: 6.30pm students

Concert: 7.00pm-8.30pm

Peter Jones Peace Prize 2023

Entries close last day of Term 2, Friday 7 July - 4pm

The prompt for this year’s Peter Jones Peace Prize is:

"If you want to end the war, then instead of sending guns, send books. Instead of sending tanks, send pens. Instead of soldiers, send teachers." Malala Yousafzai, 17 year-old Pakistani activist and Winner of the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize. Your entry must address and explore this prompt in either letter, speech, essay or poetic form.
