School Uniform Supply

The School Council are currently reviewing our school uniform supply contract as it is now due for renewal. During term 1, School Council invited the school community to complete a brief survey on our current school uniform and supplier. We were keen to understand the thoughts and requirements of our community with regards to the supply, cost, fit and quality of the uniforms.  We received 112 responses to the survey with respondents well represented across the year groups.  Results to note are as follows:

  • Quality- 53% of respondents thought the uniforms were of high quality, 27% of average quality and 18% very high quality
  • Fit- 58% of respondents thought the fit was good, 26% average and 12% excellent.
  • Service from PSW- 46% of respondents found the service helpful, 27% somewhat helpful and 18% extremely helpful.
  • Access to the store- 45% of respondents found access easy, 33% very easy and 14% reasonable.
  • Value- 54% of respondents felt the value for money was expected, 19% felt value for money was good, whilst 17% felt it was poor.
  • Overall 84% of respondents were happy with the current school uniform.

When considering how many official school uniform items were worn by students, respondents told us that few wore the entire school uniform. This suggests items like polo's, dresses and jumpers may be uniform branded, but bottoms such as skirts, shorts, hats etc may be purchased elsewhere. Respondents also ranked cost, quality and fit as the three most important considerations when purchasing a school uniform.

Considering these results we can see families would like a quality uniform with cost being a major consideration. School Council are now in discussions with uniform suppliers and have these survey results at the forefront of our requirements. We thank all the families who took time to respond to the survey and will advise our school community on updates as negotiations progress. We would like to reassure families that if a change in supplier did occur, there will be no expectation for families to purchase new uniforms to replace existing ones.

We may also add some optional items to the uniform range. In the meantime, if there are any questions or feedback please feel free to ask any member of the School Council as you see us around school grounds.
