Grade 6 Graduation
Our Year 6 students attended their Graduation last week at Rich River Golf Club. What a wonderful time to celebrate their primary years coming to an end. Plenty of laughs, dancing and singing. Congratulations Year 6 students, we look forward to seeing what the future holds in your Secondary years!
Motocross
Congratulations to Matthew Maxwell (Year 1) who competed at the 2018 AUS-X Open at Kudos Bank Arena in Sydney last month. He was selected to compete in the KTM Junior Challenge event and came 7th in the race, in front of 15,000 spectators.
Matthew Maxwell and Marco Maxwell (year 4) were also awarded 2018 Cobram Motocross Club Championship trophies last weekend. Both came first in their respective classes (50cc and 65cc). Congratulations!
Carols on the Lawn
Last night our Primary Lawn area was filled with families all enjoying our annual Carols on the Lawn. All primary classes got into the Christmas Spirit and performed for an audience of family and friends! There were fabulous costumes, catchy songs and plenty of Christmas Spirit!
Thank you for those that joined us and also supported the various food stalls that were running. All funds raised from the food stalls will go to supporting the work of Habitat For Humanity Victoria Australia in Cambodia. In 2019, 35 students and 7 teachers will be travelling to Cambodia to work with HFH and assist in their mission of a "World where everyone have a safe and decent place to live."
Year 10 Work Experience
Last week Year 10 students participated in their Work Experience across various business in town and across the state.
Thank you to all the local businesses who took the year 10 students on board.
Photographic and Digital Media task
Miss Moon's Photographic and Digital Media students have been working all term to create their Appropriation task.
The task required the students to take a well-known painting or drawing and create a photographic representation. They busily created backdrops, collected or made props and then worked in the lighting studio to capture their image.
Their hard work certainly shows in these great images!
Art Club
Students enjoyed the last Primary Art Club session of the year this week. They made paper mâché ice-creams and painted rainbow trees on a mini canvas.
We look forward to all the creations to come in 2019!
Presentation Night
Our 2018 Presentation Evening last night at the Echuca Basketball Stadium was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of a fantastic year. Congratulations to all students on their achievements and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2019.
We were delighted to have our local State Member of Parliament, Austin Evans, attend our Presentation Night and also have a tour of the School. Austin is a passionate advocate for education with a background in engineering. The school would also like to thank Austin for his contribution of awards to Presentation Night.
Year 2 Maths games
On Monday, students from Grade 2 took part in the annual Maths Games Day. This year, Miss Stacey Briggs’ Grade 5 class hosted the activities along with Michaela Spry from our Enrichment Maths elective in Year 9.
Students completed a round-robin of maths activities including; tangram puzzles, dice games, connect four strategy games, place value card games and Sphero and Blue Bot robot challenges.
It was wonderful to see our younger students get so excited by mathematics and enjoying problem-solving and posing questions with their mentors from Grade 5 and Years 9.
