A Note from the Deputy Principal

Last Thursday was our 2018 Presentation Night. Presentation Night is always a wonderful occasion for the Moama Anglican Grammar community to come together to celebrate student successes.

At the beginning of the evening I mentioned how I had spoken to some of our students on the theme of being part of the Moama Anglican Grammar community and how it is very similar to being part of any team. I have included this introduction to Presentation Evening below:

At an Assembly earlier this year I spoke to the Secondary students about how wearing the school uniform well is about being part of the Moama Anglican Grammar community and used the analogy of uniforms worn in groups and teams such as the Police Force, Fire Brigade and sporting teams. I spoke about how the uniform is not just about adhering to rules but that it is more about respect, honour and recognising that in being part of a team we are not thinking about ourselves but instead being thoughtful of and working with the members of the team.

All of us here present tonight are members of the Moama Anglican Grammar team. Each of us, students, parents and guardians, teaching and non-teaching staff each have their own important role to play to make the Moama Anglican Grammar team great.

At the end of any team’s season is awards night and tonight we celebrate members of our team, the students, who have had success academically and/or in the contributions they have made to our Moama Anglican Grammar community this year.

After a wonderful Presentation Evening I finished by saying: As we all head off into the Off Season for the Moama Anglican Grammar team, spare a thought for our HSC students who have started an early pre-season. For the rest of the Moama Anglican Grammar Team, have a restful break and a safe and happy Christmas and New Year. I wanted to include the above in this Newsletter for any MAG team members who could not make it to Presentation Evening to make sure all members of the team are included in our wishes for a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.

You will notice in the community section of this Newsletter that there is an opportunity for students (aged 14 to 18) to possibly be involved in the G’Day Space trip to the United States that will be held in December 2019. Information is also included in the below and expressions of interest (tear off slip at the end of the flyer) can be returned to myself here at school early next year. We will also run a parent information session here at school if the is enough interest. Families will be notified early in 2019 of the date and time of this evening.

Christmas Service

You're invited!

Christ Church Anglican Echuca has some exciting events planned in the lead up to Christmas helping us celebrate the reason for the season.

An interactive family service will be held on Christmas Eve, before a traditional communion service on Christmas Day. Something so amazing as God's coming to earth is made all the more special when it is shared with others. You and your family would be most welcome to join us.

NSW Health Fact Sheets

From time-to-time parents/guardians may need to refer to the NSW Health website for advice on childhood illnesses. The approaching school holiday break may be an ideal opportunity to eliminate head lice and manage re-infestation. Please note we have also had a report of scarlet fever in the local community, facts sheets are available from:
