Australian Catholic Youth Festival

The Australian Catholic Youth Festival (ACYF) is a national gathering of Catholic youth established by the Bishops of Australia.  It is an opportunity for young people to gather in Perth so they may deepen their faith in God and be empowered to exercise their discipleship in the world today.

St Bede’s College is sending a delegation of pilgrims to encounter and celebrate the vitality of the Church in Australia. 

The delegation participated in a Pilgrims’ Walk and Commissioning last Sunday in Melbourne.  The occasion gave some insight into the joy and exuberance that will be experienced at ACYF.  We look forward to their reports and ideas upon their return.

Vinnies Christmas Hampers

There are many people in our local community who struggle to make ends meet on a day-to-day basis, and for these people Christmas can be a very difficult time.  They would like to be able to celebrate the way many of us do, but they don’t have the money to do so.  So we want to do something about that!  Through each Homeroom and Tutor Group students have been asked to assemble a hamper of practical and celebratory items that will make a difference in the lives of those in need this Christmas. 

All items need to be donated by: Wednesday 4 December

The Hampers will be handed over to local St Vincent de Paul for distribution to families in our neighbourhoods who are in need.

Memorial Book

Remembrance Month and the St Bede’s College Perpetual Memorial Book

In a very special way the month of November is dedicated to the memory of our deceased family members and friends, and all who have gone before us. 

Beginning with All Saints Day and All Souls Day, and continuing throughout the month, we hold in prayer those who have died.

To mark the special way that the Catholic tradition responds to death, St Bede’s College has a Perpetual Memorial Book that will be kept in the Chapel as an invitation to others to join you in praying for your deceased relatives and friends. 

Please forward the name/s of any family member or friend to Ria Greene (rgg@stbedes.catholic.edu.au ) that you would like to have added to the book.

These names will be especially prayed for at each RE Class Mass throughout November.

Please note – if you have added names before then there is no need to submit them again as it is a Perpetual Book.
