We would like to thank the local businesses and organisations that supported our Year 10 students with a valuable week of work experience last week. Take a look at what some of our students got up to!
Student Reflections:
Cheslea Hall and Lauren Webster did their work experience at Moama Bowling Club and made a fantastic platter of morning tea for Mr Martin to thank the teachers who visited students during the week. (see photos below)
Year 10 teachers visited students through the week. Cheryl Watson provided the following information and photos from when she visited Ryan at Foodmach:
Ryan worked Mechatronics, which is a mix of mechanical engineering, electronics, computer engineering, telecommunications engineering, systems engineering and control engineering. Foodmach is working on machinery and robots that can do the complete handling and packaging of orders without human intervention. I was shown videos of the robotic processes they had developed, and are currently working on. Ryan said he had really enjoyed his time there. He particularly enjoyed working in the factory and also did an online information session on Program Logic Control. (see photos below)

Our Year 4 and 5 students were very excited to get a visit from Ivan Honey last week from the Get Happier Project. The students had a great time asking Ivan all about his program and Doug Dragster and all his friends. The Year 5 students were especially excited to show Ivan the murals and artworks they have painted on the middle school garden beds! Take a look at their fabulous creations below!

Our 2018 Kinder students had a great morning touring the school and meeting teachers for their first transition day! On their second visit they spent class time with Mrs Ripon and Miss Atley, by all accounts a good time was had by all!

Our new mural created by our Year 9 and 10 visual arts students is certainly a sight to behold! Read the article from last week's Riverine Herald below!

At this very busy time of year we are often very focused on giving and getting things done. Unfortunately, we can forget the other side of the coin: gratitude.
The Christmas season is a perfect time to remind us about the true value of being thankful. It is a time when we are reminded that the birth of a child (Jesus) represents a profound gift.
When we consider that He and each one of us began life a gift to our parents and families, that everything we are and have is a gift given to us by God, our response is one of thanks.
Over the new few weeks, our Primary School students are being encouraged to write a message of thankfulness to be placed in the Thankful Jar. These messages will be on display in our School. We also invite our Parents/Guardians and Visitors to participate.
This initiative might not change the world, but it will help us all to appreciate what we have, be thankful for the present moments and to be reminded that we are blessed.

Our new Design and Technology building is underway with the first stages of construction already commenced.

Many great photographs were taken during the night so there are great memories for our students and their families. For the very first time we had Sharnee McCoy present The One and All Inclusion Award to Sienna Quinlan.
This award recognises the outstanding qualities of a Year 6 student that has shown a true understanding and acceptance of Inclusion in both their school community and in our local community.
They have been inclusive of all abilities of all ages and have been selfless in looking for ways to benefit others and not just themselves.
They show compassion and empathy to the needs of their peers by doing small things for others with an open heart.
There were many speeches during the evening beginning with Mr Rudge Head of Primary, Mr Davidson on behalf of the Year 6 teachers and a Year 6 reflection delivered by Charlie Granger and Sienna Quinlan.
The students were presented their Year 6 certificates and finished the evening with some enjoyable Scottish dancing.
