Welcome to Access-it

The library has launched a new system! You can access using any browser, on any device, from school, home or even on the move! Access-it has many tools that maximise the use of the library such as being able to reserve your own books, check what you have out, write reviews about books you have read, watch clickview videos and even create lists of books you want to read.  

 

To access the new library system, click on Library catalogue on the student portal page.  You can log-in by using your student credentials, for example FLE0041 and your network password.  You can also download the app, simply visit your app store and download the free Access-it app. Any questions please come and see the library staff.

New Books

The Boundless Sublime by Lili Wilkinson.  Fox is all that makes sense to Ruby Jane Galbraith.  He’s gentle, wise, soulful and clever.  ‘You think you can hide inside your grief’ he said.  ‘It doesn’t work on me.  I see you.’  But how can Ruby safely extricate herself and Fox from the terrifying, secretive community called the Institute of the Boundless Sublime?  Is there ever any escape?

Promising Azra by Helen Thurloe.  Azra is sixteen, clever and has just won a place in a national science competition. Little does she know that her parents are busy arranging her marriage to an older cousin she’s never met,  in Pakistan.  How can Azra fulfil her dream of going to university and keeping her parents happy?

 

 

 

 

 

 

Serafina and the twisted staff  by Robert Beatty.  This book follows Serafina and the black cloak.   Braeden and Serafina must solve an evil mystery before it changes everything they have ever known.  Recent changes in her circumstances have left Serafina feeling bewildered and uncertain of how best to do this.

The Shark Caller by Dianne Wolfer.  Isabel is heading back to Papua New Guinea and looking forward to seeing family and friends.  Sadly her twin brother Ray has died in a freak diving accident and Isabel and her mother are taking his ashes home.  Unexpected cultural traditions have surfaced making Isabel the responsible person to undertake a perilous challenge.

HOMEWORK CLUB  Reminder to all students  - the library is open for homework Monday, Thursday and Friday night until 5pm!

Read-O

8 week challenge   To celebrate National Literacy and Numeracy week, we are launching a whole school 8 week reading competition called READ-O.

To participate in the competition you will firstly need to collect a game board from the library any day this week. When you collect the READO board, you will be given 1 raffle ticket in the competition draw. A prize total of over $200 of vouchers to win!!

To gain more raffle tickets in the draw, you will then need to complete the READO squares.

How? - Just by reading over the next 8 weeks! Competition closes Friday October 21st.
