Out of School Hours Care

The out of hours school care program at Lyndhurst Primary School was established in 2011 and has been built up to the successful program that meets the needs of the children and families in a fun, caring and safe environment. The program is currently run by Camp Australia.

Out of School Hours Care My Time – Or Place “Framework for School Aged Care” in Australia aims to provide school-aged children in Out of School Hours Care throughout Australia, with high-quality care that best promotes their learning and development while recognising the importance of social interactions and recreation.

The broad objectives of the Framework are to ensure that the children in OSHC have stimulating, positive experiences and interactions that foster their self-esteem and confidence. It aims to extend and enrich children’s wellbeing and development in school care settings.

Working in collaboration with children and in partnerships with families, educators use the Learning Outcomes to guide their planning for children’s wellbeing and learning. In order to engage children actively in learning, educators identify children’s strengths and interests, choose appropriate strategies and design the environments.

The Child Care Benefits (CCB) for all families, as the program from this service is funded by the Commonwealth Government and registered with the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (Family Assistance Office – FAO)
