Year 9 Captains' Report

This week has been great!  The last week weather was horrible so luckily it has taken a good turn.

There were some great sports happening last week.  The Senior Boys Netball team took out the State Championship and on Friday 31 August, the EIS students and staff drew in Netball, with Mr Toma choking the winning shot!

There has also been lots of activities running around the school,  like the Athletics Carnival, 'Free Dress' to help support farmers who are caught in the drought and at the moment,  lots of CATs are getting done,  so make sure if you need to catch up on some, you get them done at home or on the bus.

The 'Parent Teacher Interviews' will be held on Thursday 20 September.   Students should accompany parents for these conferences. There will be NO FORMAL CLASSES on this day.

A reminder that the Year 9 FINAL camp payments are due, Friday 14 September on COMPASS.

District Athletics was held on Tuesday 4 September, with many students performing in there chosen events, such as sprint, discuss, shot put, javelin and relay.  Congratulations to all students who have made it into the next round, and thank you to everyone who went and represented the school.

On Wednesday 5 September,  the ADP students from both classes went into the city to have a tour around the VIS (Victorian Institute of Sport). We got to meet some amazing Olympians and other athletes who talked to us about sport and resilience.  We also talked about how they train and what they do in everyday in life. We also looked at athletes peak power and how long athletes have to produce that power.   On the tour we looked at their gym, swimming pool, cool pool and running track. I'm sure all the students walked away from this experience with new knowledge to help them in their chosen sports.
