SUPPER CLUB

Supper Club.... EXCITING NEWS!

Lilydale High School has a new program. The Supper Club has a new purpose and will be further thriving in the community.

The program is a collaboration between The Lilydale Basement Food Hub and Lilydale High School, whereby food will be supplied by The Hub (donated by OzHarvest) to The Supper Club students to prepare, cook and pack into containers as individually portioned meals.

These meals will then be given back to The Hub for distribution to the homeless, local community members in need of food and anyone generally having a financially bad time.

Peter Ross and I took The Supper Club boys over to The Hub, at 193-197 Main Street, Lilydale,  so that they could understand where the food comes from and who it goes to. 

We had a tour of the food spaces and even got to meet a community member who benefits from the work that The Hub already does. We can’t wait to get involved!

The plan is, that each week we will be given food (selected at almost random) that has been donated. Without recipes, we will create healthy, filling and delicious meals for those in need.

The boys have been involved in this process from the beginning and are really positive about the program and getting it off the ground.... It starts next Monday!
