Staff Professional Development

MGSC staff have been very busy undertaking group and individual professional development to enable a continuation of learning and to ensure our students are well supported while they are learning remotely. Professional development undertaken has included training in Webex, Google Meet, Jamboard, Loom, online teaching, student wellbeing and Google extensions just to name a few. Staff are consistently collaborating in learning area teams and across Domains to share online teaching strategies and resources.

In our first staff meeting this term staff completed a survey reflecting on remote teaching and  learning. Frequent feedback was that our students have been engaged and committed to working in new ways. Many staff commented on the adaptability and initiative exhibited by students across all year levels. Staff also reflected that working with new programs and strategies has been challenging but has opened up exciting new teaching possibilities. 

The current situation has required us all to adapt and to find new ways of communicating and learning. The MGSC community has certainly risen to the challenge by developing new skills that will support and enhance learning while also opening up opportunities in the future.
