YEAR 9 CAMP

On 26 August, over 300 excited students assembled at the front of Hall at 8:15am. Half an hour later, we all managed to get onto the correct buses and headed off into our journey, to Campaspe Downs located in Kyneton. After the seemingly endless bus ride, we arrived at the campsite where we were welcomed by the PGL camp staff. We were divided into three main groups (A, B and C), then split into smaller groups that were all named after AFL teams. This camp featured an amazing variety of activities, some include: canoeing, raft building, archery, possum glider and the flying fox. This was no ordinary flying fox because it consisted of not one but four ropes, enabling four students to slide down at once.

We also participated in the Reach program, where we came together in our groups and expressed our emotions although we nearly flooded the room with our tears. On the night of the first day, we had a pyjama party where we got to stay comfortable in our pyjamas while breaking it out on the dance floor. The following night, we had the option of watching a movie or playing sports. We were allowed to vote on three movies from different genres and in the end, Maze Runner was the popular choice.

Overall, this year’s camp was amazing and is an experience that we’ll never forget. Special thanks to all the staff who attended and particularly Ms Dickson and Mr Reynolds for their tremendous efforts in organising this camp.
