MUSIC CENTRE
What an amazing fortnight we have had in the lead up to the end of term.
BALLARAT SOUTH STREET COMPETITION
Congratulations to the Clarinet Choir and the Saxophone Ensemble who performed brilliantly at this prestigious competition. The students scored highly for their extremely high level of playing and their outstanding musicianship. The students were a credit to the school as they kept their cool even after the bus had a flat tyre. Congratulations to Ms Su Rogerson for her organisation of these two groups and to Mr Martin West for his chauffeuring and bus fixing capabilities.
MUNCH THEN MUSIC
Congratulations to all the senior students who took part in the last Munch then Music concert for Term 3 on Friday 4 September. The standard was incredibly high and the enjoyment was evident throughout. Thank you to the Sons of Daniel (George Inglis, Shaun Samulenok, Luca Soprano and David Yarrow), Matthew James, Camille Stone, Jack Doherty-Brown, Paulina Vayenas, Misha Machlak, Daniel Tritt and Ryan Widdicombe. Thanks also to our hosts for the day: Jack Doherty-Brown and Eliana Adler, the lighting and sound technicians led by Nick Xanthoudakis, and finally to Mr Kurowski for his ongoing organisation of this event.

We congratulate them on their professional approach to the many gigs that they have been performing at lately.
YEAR 12 CELEBRATION NIGHT

SENIOR CONCERT
What an amazing night of entertainment was provided by the Senior Ensembles on Tuesday 15 September. Senior core ensembles provided a fantastic nights’ entertainment. What a fitting way to say thank you to the many Year 12 students who have been part of the Music Department over their time at McKinnon Secondary College.
YEAR 11 MUSIC PERFORMANCE
Congratulations to the Year 11 Music Performance group who performed at St John’s Kindergarten on Thursday 17 September. It was a great demonstration of passion for music and how to be involved in the community. Thanks to Mr Kurowski and Mr Fernandez for their organisation of this event.
END OF TERM
A reminder to all instrumental students that with the holidays starting Friday afternoon, the Music Centre will be closing at 4:00pm. All students need to pick up their instruments before this time so that they can practice over the break, especially those that have exams coming up.
