Primary Co-Curricular

Primary Co-Curricular Report

The Summer Co-Curricular season has come to an end. All Primary teams have completed their seasons.

The Year 3/4/5 cricket team finished off the year with a hard-fought win against PAC at PAC. The boys batted really well and then had their best team performance in the field to claim the win. Many thanks go to Mr Stargatt, Mr Renney, Mr Kemp and Mr Zeuner for their assistance during the season with scoring and umpiring. The boys enjoyed their cricket and had a successful year.

The Year 4/5 tennis team completed their season against Westminster. For many boys, it was their first foray into tennis and they learned a lot along the way from coaches Blake Sanders and Marcus Caporaso. The boys didn’t win too many of their matches but they always tried their best. Thanks to Mrs West for supervising the boys this season. Hopefully many of the boys will return to tennis again in 2019.

The Kanga cricket team supervised by Miss Schwidder finished up on Friday against St Pius X. The boys reliably turned up each week, full of enthusiasm and ready to play. Thanks to Ms Schwidder for her efforts across the season and to the parents who supported the boys each week.

Summer Co-Curricular - 2019

Although we have just completed the summer season, it would be worth considering the co-curricular options for 2019. In the first week of term, nomination forms will be sent home to families. Options include:

  • Year 6/7 cricket
  • Year 4/5 cricket (Year 3s may play depending on numbers)
  • Kanga Cricket (Year 2/3)
  • Year 6/7 Tennis
  • Year 4/5 Tennis
  • Year 5/6/7 Water Polo

Summer Sport Uniform Returns

There are still a number of the white summer sports uniforms to be returned. This is the final week to do so. Families will be invoiced for the replacement cost of the shirts if unreturned by the end of this week.

Thank you

The Co-Curricular programme does not function without input from a great many people. There are many staff, old scholars and parents who give up their time to ensure the programme runs and coaching/management positions are filled. I sincerely thank everyone involved in coaching or management roles for their efforts across the season and for generously giving up their time.

Congratulations to the students involved in various teams. Behaviour and attitude were very good this term and Blackfriars were well represented each game.

Have a very restful and relaxing Christmas season and enjoy the holiday period.
