A Very Warm Welcome to the 2022 School Year from Phoenix House!

It has been a wonderful start to the 2022 academic year.  I would like to welcome all new and returning students and families, to St John’s.

We are all leaders; we all have the capacity to lead in our own individual ways.  Some leaders will have high profile roles, and others will lead quietly through their actions. Phoenix House is fortunate to have two outstanding student leaders as their House Captains.  The 2022 Phoenix House Captains are, Charlie Barry PH5 and Josephine Malwal PH1.  We are looking forward to seeing these students develop their leadership qualities throughout 2022.

Hello St. Johns community, my name is Charlie Barry and I am one of the Phoenix house captains for 2022.  I would like to give a warm welcome to the new Year 7s and the new students starting at St. Johns this year.  Welcome back to all the returning staff and students from last year, I hope everyone enjoyed their time away and is happy to be back. I am looking forward to starting a fresh year and am hoping it is not like previous years in terms of lockdowns so we can continue with on-site learning.  I’m very excited for all the events we have on this year, we have swimming carnival coming up soon.  I am looking forward to seeing all students, especially Phoenix students participating during, whether that be swimming or cheering your house and friends on!

Hello, all members of the St John’s community.

My name is Josephine Malwal and I am honoured to be one of the Phoenix House Captains for 2022.  I would like to start by welcoming all students and staff to the new school year.  I hope everyone had an amazing summer holiday, with a chance to relax and regenerate for the year ahead.  Last year was a difficult year, and the holiday break was truly well deserved.  I hope that 2022 will be a year full of excitement, opportunities to be involved, and personal growth.  I'm really looking forward to school activities such as, the swimming carnival, the house athletics carnival and all the events throughout the year where we can come together have fun and show house spirit. 

I am looking forward to working with the student leadership team and staff to making this a great year.
