Programs - VCE/VCAL

Frankie Flanagan - VCE and VCAL Program Leader

We wish to welcome both our returning senior students and those new to our College. I am excited to be working at St John’s after returning to Victoria earlier this year.  I have over 15 years experience working at High Schools in regional Victoria and Metropolitan Melbourne.  I am looking forward to working in the dynamic and rich learning culture that St John’s provides.

2022 promises to be a very productive year and we hope that everyone has experienced a smooth transition back to school and are now settling in for the academic year.  There is no doubt that the year that awaits our senior students is significant.  Whilst there may be challenges along the way, we remain hopeful that the College, alongside students and their families, can create a culture of industrious endeavour with a strong commitment to striving for success.

It is important that all students establish and maintain a strong routine. Students should prioritise a regular sleep schedule to ensure that they are able to perform at their best during school time and at home.  Similarly, it is important that students attempt to sustain a balance between their part time work and school, ensuring that they are able to complete the work required at school.

Success at VCE and VCAL is dependent on a strong relationship between the school, staff and parents and guardians.  It is important that communication is maintained and that concerns are discussed as soon as they arise.  If students fall ill, or cannot attend school due to isolation periods, they can continue to complete school work by following on with SEQTA lessons.

We look forward to a wonderful year filled with rich learning experiences and classes.
