Students in VET Courses

At Beaufort Secondary College, many of our students are enrolled in a Vocational Education and Training (VET) course. VET courses are designed to be an industry-specific way of delivering new knowledge and skills to students. Our students are provided with a different learning experience outside a normal classroom setting to assist them in gaining these career-focused skills.
VET courses cover a wide range of different industries and careers such as Trade, Retail, Hospitality and Technology. The courses our students are currently enrolled in are Carpentry, Agriculture, Automotive, Animal Studies, Equine, Fashion Design, Information Technology, Engineering, Allied Health and Retail Cosmetics.
Currently, 16 of our students are participating in these VET courses in Ballarat, where the training is offered by Federation University, Gordon TAFE, Skill Invest, Box Hill Institute and ACU. All students travel to their respective courses once a week as they work towards gaining their relevant qualifications needed for future employment.
Last week, Mr Trigg was in Ballarat visiting our students in action as they settled into the first few weeks of their courses.
