St John's Chickens

A huge Thank-You to all of the families who helped care for our chickens over the Summer Holidays. Thank-you for volunteering to feed and entertain them throughout the break. We hope that you enjoyed their fresh eggs.

We need more volunteers to look after the chickens each weekend throughout the year. If you are able to assist in Term 1, please email Mel - mkerwin@sjmitcham.catholic.edu.au

and let her know which weekends you are available.

Volunteers are required to let the chickens out in the mornings, fill up their food and water containers and put them away again later in the day. All eggs that are collected are yours to keep.

Composting

At St John's we encourage our students to put fruit and vegetable scraps into the compost bins. We also have worm farms and collect the worm juice for our gardens. We are attempting to be more waste-wise by limiting the packaging brought to school.

Thanks for your support!
