MANDATORY MASK WEARING GRADES 3-6

From Monday the 18th the Government has mandated that students wear masks while inside at school. As a school we will do our best to support our students with this change. We  understand that for some of our children it will take them a little while to get use to wearing them.

If your child is unwell, even if symptoms are very mild, they should stay home. They should not attend school until they have recovered. If your child has symptoms of COVID-19 or of cold and flu-like illness, even if they are very mild, see your doctor or go to a respiratory testing clinic. Your child can then be assessed and tested for the virus that causes COVID-19. Your child will have to stay home while waiting for the result of their test. You must follow the advice of your doctor or testing clinic.

As well prepared and as vigilant we are as a school, we will need the parent/carer/student community to be the same to help us to achieve the best outcomes for everyone in the coming weeks.

Just a reminder that in Term Four we have a NO HAT NO PLAY policy in line with being a SunSmart school. Please make sure your child/ren brings a hat to school.

 - Mental Health Priority It is estimated that around one in seven Australian children experience mental health issues and about half of all serious mental health issues in adulthood begin before the age of fourteen years of age. Experts believe one of the best things parents can do to support their children is to learn how different issues present in children. You don’t need to be an expert, but it can be really helpful to know what to look for and when your child or family member might need some extra support. There are many support organizations you can contact for further advice. If you have noticed changes in your child’s moods, emotions or behaviour that are worrying you, the best thing you can do for your child’s wellbeing is to speak to a health professional about your concerns.
