Year 12 Students

As a result of completing your senior schooling during the two years of the COVID pandemic you have learnt many skills: flexibility, resourcefulness, time management, perseverance and positivity to name a few - all qualities interviewers look for when they make selection decisions, never more so than now. In addition, you have all learned to adapt and get through.  This will stand you in very good stead for the future, whether you continue to further study, seek employment or follow an alternative pathway.

Note that if you are planning to apply for a TAFE course which is not through the VTAC system, direct applications for TAFE courses are now open and can be made online via the institution website.

Year 12 VCE Students

Good luck with your exam preparation over the next little while. May it all go smoothly. If you have made a VTAC application, it is also timely to consider whether any preferences included in your VTAC application have extra selection requirements which must be completed. Many courses select using the ATAR only, but some, especially Education, Art, Design and Performance related courses, may expect students to complete a design task, undergo an audition, present a folio, attend an interview, sit a test and so on. It is important to check the deadlines for these tasks because those deadlines are not negotiable. If you miss a deadline you will not be considered for that course and it becomes a wasted preference. Please carefully check the VTAC Course Search entry for your course(s) and also your VTAC emails, to determine when these deadlines occur and then attend to the selection task in a timely manner.

VTAC Emails

As a matter of routine, never ignore your VTAC emails, always check them in case there is something you need to attend to, to facilitate selection or enrolment.

Tax File Numbers

Students planning to enrol in University or TAFE courses for 2022 must have a Tax File Number (TFN) by the time of enrolment.  Similarly if you commence employment.

Payment of VTAC Fee

Many students have already paid their VTAC processing fee of $42.  Well done! If you have not yet paid, there is no panic, but please keep it in the back of your mind and make a payment by the start of December. The $42 covers the initial application fee, as many change of preferences as you need / want and a printed ATAR statement in the mail after your results are released. If the fee is not paid, VTAC withdraws you from the VTAC system and you are not then eligible for an offer for a course for 2022.
