Grade 3/4s News

The Grade 3/4 students have been working very hard in class.

In Maths we have been developing our knowledge of mathematical symbols to show greater than and less than. The students have also completed some practical data collection about the Tabloid Sports Day.

In Writing, the students have been working on publishing quality pieces of writing. The students are choosing from a wide variety of topics to write about and are working on being really detailed in their writing.

Games Corner

Board games are very beneficial for students to learn a variety of skills.

One game that frequently is played in the Grade 3/4 class is Pokemon cards. Pokemon cards teach a variety of Maths and Social skills. Students learn how to take turns and follow a set of rules.

The students also gain proficiency in mental addition, as they calculate health rates, attack rates and what they need to do to win. The students are also provided with the opportunity to observe and effect chance scenarios as they work to get the cards they need and use a coin to determine some effects of cards.
