RAIN, RAIN and more RAIN!

A lot of rain has brought a sudden end to our forage conservation activities. We are all feeling for other farmers who have been likewise hampered by frost and now rain as they try to salvage what they can from a seemingly bumper season that has been turned on its head in the last month. We have gone past the 1000mm mark this week for our annual rainfall and the signs are of more weather coming next week.

Hay & Silage Making

While I am on the topic of silage and hay making, it is important that parents and carers understand the juggling act our Trainers must perform during this season. Weather determines a lot about the speed of our operations and as such there are times when Trainers are operating machinery and can only take one student inside the cab. Invariably this leaves a number of students waiting in the ute. This is unavoidable and relies upon the maturity of all students on farm to follow instructions and be patient when Trainers are instructing one student at a time.

Dinninup Training

Mr Gelmi has been assisting with the Year 10 training for the Dinninup Show. We wish to thank him for his voluntary work in working with our students.
