Headspace - Leaving School Workshop
You thrive
Youthrive Rural Chances offers young people the chance to support their vocational training with scholarships for TAFE study or apprenticeships. Rural Chances scholarships can assist young people who:
- have to travel long distances or move away from home to gain qualifications
- struggle with the many expenses associated with training or building skills
- can see a skills gap in rural Victoria they can fill
- and would enjoy mentoring and networking opportunities
There are
10 scholarships valued at $5000
to assist with long distance travel or moving out from home. Additionally there are
10 more scholarships for up to $2000
to cover specific items to support training. Our 2022 Rural Chances Scholarship applications are NOW OPEN and
CLOSE 25th October 2021.
Applications can be submitted as either an
easy online form or video.

The Commonwealth Government has a number of Scholarships available to Rural and remote students.
Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships (RRES)
The Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships (RRES) program was announced in 2016 to help Australians in regional and remote areas to access higher education. It supports people studying from Certificate IV through to PhD level. Please open the link for further information:

Australian Defence Force Gap Year Program
It isn’t too late to apply for the Gap Year Program. There are still roles open in the Navy, Army and Air Force. The Gap Year program offers students a fantastic opportunity to work for the ADF for 12- months, meet people from all over Australia, develop skills in team work, initiative and leadership, and earn a high wage.

Youth Employment Program
The Youth Employment Program offers 6–12 month roles in Victorian Government departments and agencies. Participants:
• undertake a short training course in public sector administration
• receive job-preparation, mentoring and postplacement support The Youth Employment Program is open to Victorians who are:
• aged between 17 and 29 years
• unemployed
• eligible to be employed by the Victorian Government.
