Term 4 Week 4

Feature News: Visual Art

It has been great getting to know you all through your art during remote learning. To start with this term, students created amazing self portraits all about themselves.

During Week 2, Grades 3 - 6 created their own art gallery, this included their own artwork and plenty of interesting fine details. I was so impressed with the creative and innovative art galleries and I enjoyed visiting every single one.

The Grade 1/2 classes had a go at turning words into pictures and there were some fun examples of this on display.

It was a joy welcoming Foundation classes back to the art room. We practised our modelling skills using playdough; creating coils, balls, pinch pots and using tools to create different marks and textures. Our modelling skills will be used in coming weeks in the classroom as we progress to using other materials.

I am really looking forward to welcoming all the classes back to the art room very soon and have some fun projects planned for when we all get back!

Also, a reminder to ensure that you have an art smock (with sleeves) at school so you can keep your school uniform clean while creating your artwork.
