GROWING TOGETHER

GROWING TOGETHER …  APART

What a term, what an incredible term! Who would’ve thought that our mighty garden army would remain so connected ... apart 🤪.

We have grown seeds together. (Well, you have: mine didn’t grow 🙄) These included broad beans, sunflowers and even an attempt of growing geraniums by cutting. It brought tears to my eyes singing ‘Endless Love’ to Ruby’s sunflower via the net. I bet it’s growing gangbusters, Ruby!  Just in case you forgot the words: 🎶Oh sunflower there’s only you in my life, the only sunflower that’s right. I love you 💕, I love you 💕, I love you, sunflower 💕🌻 …… my endless love🎶. We have an abundance of vegetables that are growing beautifully in our garden beds. I can’t wait to show them off to you next term.

We have raised sixteen chicks from the day they hatched (thanks, Prep team). Nine will be given away for adoption and seven will stay at school. Our much-loved producer, partner and techno wizard drew the winning chick names out live on our Meet. It was incredible, thanks Mr Wood! The winning names are 🐥 Princess Laya, Sunglasses, Henrietta, Scratch, Noodles, Pebbles and Chickaletta 🐥 .  Thanks to all those who contributed names to the competition. The chicks have been introduced to our old chickens and are now living in the main chook pen.

Lockdown Lovin’ - our guinea pig adoption program - is in full swing. They are about to head out to their third family for the duration of the holidays. They’ve traveled more miles than the entire school population put together! And all for love ❤️… it’s a beautiful thing 🥲. The program is here to stay and the lovin’ is here to stay. I vote we just lose the lockdown 🙄. A big thank you to all those families who supported the program and all the care and attention you gave to our plucky pack of pigs.

To my sensational scarecrow-making team: Our garden and and I are eternally grateful to you all. You are sensational! They’re like family; they’ve become my best friends. I can talk to them all day and they never talk back or run away 🤩.

Sally loves me and is really keen to take me out for Margherita pizza. I’m keen, I just don’t know how to break the news to Louise 🤔. ❤️I LOVE THEM BOTH 😫❤️.

Sally ❤️‘S me and pizza.

MoonRiver, our groovy garden astrologer, gives us a window into our lives each and every week. She sure is an expert on planetary alignment 🌙.  BTW a big thank you from MoonRiver to Mr Wood for the donation of his finest clothes. Thanks, Mr Wood 😇.

Professor Pete, our meteorologist, meat man and meet man: such a diverse range of interests. He delivers a no-fuss weather forecast along with tips on best buys in meats ….. And he even sells self-designed greeting cards. That’s one Pete I’m glad we got to meet!

💜 Damo, Damo, Damo 💜. This non stop, hard rocking, Miss McDermott-loving, Demon-barracking (he did actually barrack for The Dockers until he discovered Miss McDermott barracked for the mighty Demons 🙃) pocket rocket has taken our garden Meets by storm ⚡️. It’s not a Meet without Damo’s favourite song and a thrash on our air guitars. Thanks, Damo. 🎸We promise Rock and roll ain’t going to die 🎸.

❤️ will never tear us apart. Damo and Miss McDermott 😉.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to such an enjoyable show. I’m grateful to all those who made it so much fun to do.

❤️A special mention must go out to Mr Wood (words do not do you justice), Miss McDermott, Mrs Douglas and Nicola for daring to come along for the ride. ❤️

Please send garden pictures, Damo playlist, Damo air guitar shots, lockdown loving queries to foverberg@stlouisaspendale.com. Sorry to all those people who tried to email me last week. The email address I gave you was wrong 😑.

May you be well and happy 🌻❤️🙏
