Principal's Message

Dear Parents, students and the wider community,

Well we are finally getting everyone back to school. What a wait!! Congratulations to you all on the many ways you have supported your children at home to grow and learn over the past lockdown period. It certainly has felt like it has really dragged this time around.

It has been pleasing to have the students back at school on a part time basis as we all get used to each other again. From the staff's perspective they feel the students have returned very well and we look forward to the next 6 and a bit weeks together of our final term. To welcome everyone back, I would like to thank Mrs Ary and Mrs Winduss who have organised a Celebration Day for Wednesday 3rd November which should be a lot of fun. I know the classes have all had mini-celebrations of their own but it will be a great moment to celebrate together.

Students are welcome in the yard from 8.30am. They will move inside at 8.50am. We will meet next Wednesday on the netball court for line up as we have traditionally done. Please note Monday 1st November is a School Closure Day for Reporting and Tuesday 2nd November is Melbourne Cup Day.  Masks are required to be warn inside by our Year 3-6 students as directed by the Victorian Health authorities and are also recommended for the junior students. At this stage parents are allowed outside on-site at drop off and pick up but please adhere to the usual Covid safe practices.

Just another reminder that as we are a Sunsmart school sunhats are  required for students this term please. I also imagine with increasing humidity and warmth that mosquitos will be about quite a bit. Please ensure you apply repellent before the day. With school required to have increased airflow there will be more windows open allowing for more of them to also be inside.

We are beginning to look at our class arrangements for next year. If you would like staff to consider something of an academic or wellbeing nature for your child when forming our classes please provide this in writing no later than Friday 12th November for our consideration. We use a variety of factors in determining class placement and as such any requests are not guaranteed.

Tomorrow is World Teachers Day and, as such, the staff got the main photo on the cover this week. I am sure you will join with me in appreciating what a wonderful, caring, committed and professional staff we have at St Anne's. I am inspired by them regularly as they share their God-given talents to help their students grow to be the best adults they can be.

God Bless You All
