Library Learning and Wellbeing Hub for MindFeeders
Students have participated in many interesting activities in the Library this term as part of our lunchtime programs. It's a fun way to build connections between students of all ages through shared interests and develop a love of learning and reading.
This term has seen:
Mindful Monday meditations, conversations and gratitude journals
Tech Tuesday robotics and digital art
Wellbeing Wednesday creatives making friendship bands, laminated pressed flower collages and paper mache nature luminaries
Thinking Thursday hosting chess players and mentor Kinne Ring from the Country University Centre.
Our senior students were ably guided through accessing e-resources via the Kempsey Shire Library by Melanie the Youth Services Librarian
We've experienced a big growth in demand for graphic novels, especially among our junior students, and are regularly adding to our collection. Students are encouraged to let us know if there are books they'd like so we can buy them for our Library!
Our displays and activities follow the big themes we have chosen including ANZAC Day, World Environment Day, World Oceans Day, Star Wars and NAIDOC Heal Country. We hope students are inspired to learn, connect and feel supported. It's been great to see so many students reading and enjoying our new non fiction and fiction books.
We wish everyone a Happy Holiday with lots of opportunity to read and relax!
