KHS Students Represent at Charity Golf Day

On Friday 18th June the 3 Dunbar-Rudd brothers, Kai, Carlin and Graceson, took part in a Charity Golf day run by local veterinarian and businessman Andrew Bennett. to raise funds for someone in need. This year Andrew chose young Hamish Cook, tragically injured last summer in a swimming accident that has left him a Tetraplegic. When the family found out that Hamish would be the recipient of the fundraising, the boy’s father Ian asked his sons if they would be interested in participating in the event to help Hamish. Without hesitation Kai, Carlin and Graceson agreed, subject to any pressing school commitments. The boys and Ian took part in the day and much to their surprise they were the eventual winners.

However Hamish was the true winner on the day as real Kempsey spirit prevailed. The event, through activities on the day and through generous donations from sponsors of the event raised approximately $15,000 for Hamish. The event was a wonderful success in the midst of very difficult times for many people.

A big congratulations should go to Andrew Bennett for organising this annual event and to all the wonderful sponsors and Kempsey people for their support. Over 130 people attended the day.
