Boys - Winners of the Anschuetz Shield. History is made!!

Game one:

TRAC 9 defeated KHS 1

Goals scored - Kieran Molloy (1), Henry Burns (4), Daniel Okerenyang (4)

MVP – Vaughan Jenkins (3), Damian Kalmier (2), Lucas Woodham (1)

Special mention to Nate Evans who made several amazing saves at goal.

Game two:

TRAC 4 defeated WWHS 1

Goals scored - Finn Jenkins (1), Damian Kalmeier (2), Kieran Molloy (1).

Captain Finn Jenkins was brought down in an awkward tackle, he composed himself and stepped up to take the penalty shot. A hush fell over the ground, Captain Jenkins calmly strode in and slotted a magnificent right footer into the top right hand corner, nothing but fresh air all the way into the back of the net. The crowd went wild. WWHS hit back next, making the team nervous. Score TRAC 2 - WWHS 1 at half time.

The second half was played at a hectic pace, WWHS continuing to attack while Nate Evans and the back line continued to repel the relentless wave of attack after attack. Nate was pulling save after save. Then Nate flicked a kick to Connor Granger who deflect shot a pass to Captain Jenkins, passing to brother Vaughan, who weaved his way past not one WWHS player, not two, but THREE WWHS players, down the right flank and with pinpoint accuracy crossed it to Damien Kalmeier who slotted it past the WWHS keeper, the crowd was gobsmacked. WWHS team couldn’t believe it, TRAC was now leading 3-1. Then, a late minute inclusion into the team, Kieran Molloy slotted the final goal of the day, putting the icing on the cake. TRAC 4 defeating – WWHS 1.

Report written by Mr Ian Begg

Girls - On Tuesday 4th May, the Under 15s Girls soccer team was very excited for Round 1 of the Bill Turner Trophy, which they won 11-0 against Kooringal High School. Unfortunately, they got defeated by Wagga Wagga High School 2-5 in Round 2. The girls were very proud of representing The Riverina Anglican College in this competition, always kept their heads up and played with College spirit. Our great scorers were Amelia Walker (5 goals), Alethea and Allyana Levy (3 goals each). Well done girls, and get ready for the Opens competition coming up next term.
