Outdoor Education News

Over the past month the Year 10 Outdoor Education class has planned and completed a range of activities in a variety of environments.

These have included a session with Fish Care Victoria, exploring positive sustainability practises of recreational fishing.

Students were given the opportunity to practise their casting and attempted to catch a fish.

Students planned and completed the 17km overnight Beeripmo Hike in the Mt Cole State Park, an environment featuring rainforest, fern gullies and tall forests.

Students did an amazing job of carrying all their equipment, planning, and cooking their own meals and navigating the trail in groups.

Students displayed a high level of resilience, teamwork, and motivation throughout the entire hike.

Earlier this week students visited Hardrock Indoor Climbing Centre.

While at the centre students completed a safety briefing, learned how to use the harnesses, and how to safely belay each other. They then tackled the challenges of each climbing wall. Well done to all students for their active participation and teamwork on the day.
