Learning Space 2 - Remote Learning

The Senior students in Learning Space 2 used a Google app called "Jamboard" to collaborate and display their understandings on key words for R.E./Inquiry.

Adaptations, Habitats, Climates and more!

This term, the students in Senior Learning Space 2 participated in a Primary Science Program organised by St. John’s Regional College.

The students in Senior SR investigated plants and their adaptations. This involved planting bean sprouts and discovering the functionality of plants. The plants were placed in various environments to demonstrate similarities and differences when grown in these different spaces.

“I learned more about the process on how plants grow, and I felt curious about this.”  (Megha)

The students in Senior TP explored leaves as living things. They learned how to use a microscope so they could view the ability of leaves to breathe. The concept of inhale and exhale CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) to O2 (Oxygen) was also investigated.

“I really enjoyed looking at the leaves because I did not know what they looked like under a microscope”. (Prisha)

The students in Senior AP developed understandings on the impact an environment has on bugs and insects. They explored the various environments within the Community Garden and used a microscope to view the distinct differences of bugs and insects. Samples of soils and bugs were collected from gravel, mulch, compost, the chook pen and even under buckets.

“I noticed that some worms were big and some were small and many of them lived under the bricks”. (Edward)

PE NEWS

JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLINICS

Unfortunately we are unable to re-organise the football clinics that were going to take place in Week 8 however we are hoping that we will be able to have the clinics that we have booked in for Week 10. We are currently communicating with the AFL to see if this is possible and whether restrictions will allow for it.

LUNCHTIME SOCCER CLINICS

We are hoping that lunchtime soccer clinics can resume on the last Monday of Week 10. If not, we will definitely see Olympias back in Term 3.
