Girls Rugby

Anastasia Martin made her referee debut last Friday at the Girls’ NWRYRC Competition. She has strong knowledge of the game and was able to manage the games fairly. A huge congratulations to Anastasia and we look forward to seeing her referee more in the near future.

The Girl’s NWRYRC Competition has been a great opportunity for our girls to showcase their Rugby Union skills and talents. The girls’ have been playing a tens competition this term which is a variant of Rugby Union in which teams are made up of ten players, with much shorter matches, usually played as two, ten-minute halves.

A fun Rugby fact for you - Rugby tens was developed in Malaysia, a nation that has never qualified for the Rugby World Cup!

All players MUST be registered before they take the field. Players who are not registered WILL NOT play. If there are any students who are still interested in playing, please contact Mrs Mellowship-Brown to collect a letter.

NSW CCC Cross Country

Well done to those students who competed in the CCC State Cross Country at Eastern Creek. Tom Bible finished 5th in the 17 Years Boys 6km. Tom has now qualified for the NSW All Schools Cross Country, on Friday 16 July, again in Eastern Creek. Tom and Josh Bible, Harrison Munsie, Butch Howe, John Harris, Hannah Friedman and Shanae Wark all made the trip down to the big smoke to race against the best in the Catholic school system.

PACE MAKER: Tom Bible (left) stormed home in the 17 Years Boys 5km to finish 5th.

Dio Soccer

Some cold conditions today for Diocesan  Soccer at Sport UNE! All students played extremely well and represented the college with pride.

The Junior Girl's team pictured both finished second in their pool competition and played each other in the final in a highly competitive finish to the day!!

3 girls and 3 boys teams represented the College, with a mixture of wins, draws and losses. Our Open Girls side (our only side to progress through) were far too good for McCarthy, and now have a date with St Joseph’s Regional College, Port Macquarie, at a date and location TBC.

All students should be commended on their sportsmanship and effort throughout the day.

Thanks to all staff for coaching, refereeing, supervising and mentoring our students in very cold conditions.
