Debating

On 20th May, the debating team participated in the third debate of the round. The topic was ‘That public transport should be free’ and our team was on the affirmative side. Ellie McLauchlan, Jordan Pungatara and Nathaniel O’Sullivan took on the speaking roles for the debate and made some compelling arguments. Jermaine Pungatara, Ira Alyanna Samson, Abby Midgley, Cody Ryan and Benjamin Latimer supported the team by assisting with research, speech writing or attending on the night to show support. The team didn’t win the debate this time but all speakers spoke extremely well! The next debate is on the 24th June and the team will be busily preparing for the new topic during our weekly lunchtime meetings.
