Kildare Touch

STATE CHAMPIONS

The 9/10 girls touch team recently competed in the NSW Allschool State Touch Finals.

To be eligible to play, all teams from across the state had to win a qualifying tournament.

On the day twenty four teams competed. The results are as follows:

  • Round 1 drew with Mount St Benedict 1-1
  • Round 2 defeated Mudgee High 7-1
  • Round 3 defeated Bankstown Girls High 11-1
  • Round 4 defeated Narrabri High 9-0
  • Round 5 Drew with Tomaree High 1-1
  • Quarter Final defeated Young High 4-0
  • Semi Final defeated Monte Saint Angelo Girls North Sydney ( 1200 Girls ) 4-3
  • Grand Final defeated Tomaree high, Port Stephens 2-1

Player of the Grand Final was Ella McFarlane.

It was a tremendous effort to win the State title and culminates in three State titles and one runner up medal for six of the girls in the team in the last four years. A feat which I doubt has ever been done or possibly will be done again.

Congratulations to a very talented team!
