Science and Agriculture Enrichment day

The Science and Agriculture Enrichment day was a spectacular experience as we were able to develop a greater understanding around the topics. There were three different workshops that we all attended and each workshop had a separate idea and meaning. One of the workshops was an agriculture based development where we had to taste two different pieces of meat. We all had to taste the meat and then grade the sample based on a criteria. Afterwards, we then had to decide what each cut of beef was based on previous experiences. One of the cuts of meat was sirloin, while the other was a sample from the rump.

The second workshop was called the rhizo-lysimeter and this workshop was based around how to grow the best type of crops all year round. Each piece of equipment had its own purpose, however, each was as equally important. We all listened to what each utility was for and it was an excellent experience. The final workshop was mainly around food where we learnt about the toughness of each type of food, different preservation techniques as well as how we all taste things differently. Overall, it was an excellent experience and we are all grateful that we had the chance to attend this great day.
