Year 11 goes to Lake Burrendong

Life Ready Camp

Thirty eight  Year 11 students including Japanese exchange students Ryu Akima and  Shuma Tanaka (Yr 10) and three staff, travelled to Lake Burrendong to complete the 3 day Life Ready (Crossroads) camp from 11 to 13 March.  The students enjoyed a variety of practical activities including archery, raft building, slip and slide, high ropes course and Camp fire time.  Although Lake Burrendong is currently at 7% water capacity and therefore not accessible for water activities during the camp, the students were able to make use of the 25 metre pool on site for raft building and free time.  The outdoor activities were combined with a series of theory presentations on Respectful Relationships, Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol, Cybersafety and Road Safety.  These Life Ready topics were presented by Department of Sport and Recreation staff in addition to NSW Police (Dubbo).

Thank you to Ms Mackenzie and Mr Mugridge who accompanied the students and myself to the camp.
