Drama Matters

Year 7 Melodrama

Year 7 students have been studying Melodrama.  This is a form of theatre from 18th Century France that became popular all over the Western world - including Australia.  The melodrama plays of this period were tales of suffering, suspense, romance and evil deeds.  These plays were not particularly credible, rather, they were meant to ignite the audience's reactions - a bit like soap operas on TV today.

Year 7 have been asked to create a chase scene between at least two characters they are familiar with.  They watched some "Wacky Races" to influence them on what was possible.  Below are some examples both in video and written format.  Chase Scene 1 by Hamish Tooher; Chase Scene 2 by Bradley Ning.  The films were made using Lego by Anthony Parissis and Isaac Donlevy.
