Beachside Mixed Netball and Girls Soccer Tournaments
On Tuesday 24th July, Erin H, Seb T, Isaac W, Bumble S, Mary-Jane H, Bridey F, Holly M and Savannah S from St James represented the Holt District at the Beachside Division Netball competition. The team had progressed through from the Holt District at the end of Term 2. All students played very well on the day and represented St James admirably. The competition was very tough but our students learned many new skills and were playing extremely well by the end of the day. A huge thank-you to Jo Small and Eloise Hudson for driving the students to and from the venue, scoring and coaching on the day. You were both a huge support for the students and myself.
On Wednesday 25th July, 17 students from St James also represented the Holt District at the Beachside Soccer Tournament at Victory Park in Bentleigh. A huge thank-you to their very enthusiastic and highly engaging coach Andy Swain.

Just a reminder that if your child is picked for a team and representing the school, it is important to let the school (info@stjamesbrighton.catholic.edu.au or ph. 9596 4766)and myself (gmcnamara@stjamesbrighton.catholic.edu.au) know in a timely manner if they can no longer participate.

School Sport Victoria Soccer
- Team Vic
Recently I was chosen for the School Sport Victoria Team Vic Soccer team. I participated in a series of trial sessions that began back in May.
I competed in three trials to eventually make the final team of 14 girls.
Team Vic representatives were watching us throughout the trials and determined who moved onto the next round. The trials mostly consisted of games with a skills session added in as well.
I am very proud of my efforts throughout the trials and I am looking forward to competing for Victoria.
The School Sport Australia Soccer Championships will be held in Glenwood, NSW from the 16th - 21st of September 2018.
