Building Project
The building project is now into its third week and Bowden Constructions are making effective inroads into the demolition of the first floor.
We have had strip out crews, electricians and plumbers etc performing many early tasks todate. Last night the staff relocated the staff room to Mr Buckley's office and while it will be a tight squeeze it will be cosy.
The plans for the school are placed in the corridor which details a few images of what we are creating. The colour scheme is also displayed. Thanks to two of our Year 6 students, Ginger and Dana for creating this display. The architecturally designed spaces will be flexible and responsive to the learning and teaching needs of the students, teachers and parents.

Farewell Ms Orengo
Ms Teri Orengo will conclude her teaching role at St James today and we wish her every success in her new position. As mentioned in the previous newsletter, Teri has been appointed as Head of Literacy and English teacher at Kew Secondary College, teaching across all levels of the school and will commence tomorrow.
The St James students and staff had an opportunity to farewell Teri yesterday in the pop up Church, where she was presented with beautiful cards from each class and serenaded with a song (written specifically for her) from some very talented Year 6 students.
Mr Buckley will be replacing Teri for the remainder of the year and will be working closely with Mrs Crawley in the Year 6 level. The final stage of the school year is an important period for our senior students to complete their education and to prepare them for their first year of Secondary education. We are fortunate to have the experience of Liam at St James and he is excited about the prospect of engaging with the senior students in the final terms.
As the Learning and Teaching leader and with many solid years of teaching Year 6 students both here and in other educational settings, Liam will bring valuable wisdom to the Year 6 level. He is on the Catholic Southern Region Learning and Teaching Executive and will bring this knowledge and his practical teaching skills to our students.
The understandings that Liam brings will also ensure that the significant events in this final period such as Graduation preparation, Sports day, reports, transition arrangements, Brighton Cluster days, Luna Park excursion etc., will be led and managed with an experienced and familiar hand.
